Waterfalls In The Whites Of New Hampshire

Program #17969
September 19th - 24th, 2010
Price: $794.00

More than 100 waterfalls in the White Mountains of New Hampshire provide striking displays of beauty and natural power, as well as a refreshing respite for late-summer hikers. Spend a challenging and spirited week hiking the Appalachia, Evans Notch, Crawford Notch and Pinkham Notch areas of "the Whites," stopping at a variety of waterfalls to study the natural forces at work.

Learn the differences between national forests and national parks, and listen as a local expert tells the story of early settlement in the Pinkham Notch area. A presentation on the proper gear for hiking in the Whites prepares you for your adventure, while a field trip to Gorham, N.H. includes an informative visit to its historical museum.

Level 5 - Strenuous daily activity; hiking four to six miles on uneven, rocky, often steep terrain at elevations up to 3,000 feet.

Accomodations - Motor Inn located on the north side of the White Mountains. Indoor pool, sauna, steam room, Jacuzzi and health club. Complimentary wireless Internet.
