Full Moon/Snowshoe - March 2005

Have you ever experienced snowshoeing in a mystical winter forest, guided by the light of a brilliantly lit moon? Come along with other like minded people and experience the fun on a moonlit night!

Our trip will begin at the Barre Falls Dam in Hubbardston, Massachusetts. Here your guide will briefly review logistical information before we start our trek. Barre Falls is part of the Ware river water shed, which empties into the Quabbin Reservoir. Our trip is approximately 3 miles in length, and should take approximately 2 1/2 to 3 hrs. to complete (give or take depending on the group). You will be on a relatively flat surface, with a few moderately easy inclines. It's a good idea to bring along a headlamp if you have one.

Trip Includes:

  • Bottled water available for tour
  • Quabbin Reservoir/Barre Dam/and prison camp information
  • Learn the basic fundamentals of snowshoeing
  • Professional, pleasant and well informed guides

  • Hiking activity rating:   Easy to moderate
