Ancient Wilderness Living Skills
Contact us to schedule a trip Price: $65.00 (includes dinner)
Today we take for granted the roof over our heads, the clothing on our backs, and the food in our bellies, but how did we get here? It wasn't very long ago that humans as individuals knew how to take care of themselves and their people in the wilderness. Although we may not practice these skills anymore today, our bones still know how to make fire, shelter and find food and water -- our hearts still know how to rise with the springtime dawn chorus.
This jam-packed yet relaxing two day course will help reawaken the ancient knowledge that lies in all of us and provide invaluable skills and attitudes for thriving in a wilderness setting. Participants will come home from this weekend experience with the skills needed to make a fire by friction, build a shelter out of natural materials that will keep you warm and dry, and lots more crafts, skills, and knowledge that make wilderness living safe and enjoyable. Come with an empty cup and let the wisdom of living close to the land refill you!
We will live communally for the weekend sharing the duties of camp life such as preparing food, gathering firewood, and keeping camp clean. Healthy and fulfilling fare will be provided, participants will bring tents, sleeping bags, and knives for carving, as well as clothing appropriate for the weather.
