Mt. Washington State Forest
Mt. Washington, Massachusetts

Women's two day back country camping trek

Dates to be announced

Mt. Washington State Forest, nestled in the Berkshires of southwestern Massachusetts, offers a variety of magnificent views and beautiful scenery. A great place filled with opportunities for outdoor activities like hiking, wilderness camping, bird watching, and the viewing of early spring flowers. Within the State Forest we'll visit Bash Bish Falls, which is described as the state's most dramatic waterfall, and most frequently photographed. We'll hike along the Alander Mountain Trail walking across beautiful flower-filled meadows, and through woodland forests where you'll hear the sounds of singing birds and trickling streams.

Our trip includes a hike to Bash Bish Falls, hiking a section of the Alander Mountain Trail, an opportunity to learn the fundamentals of back country camping, map and compass, cooking back country style, camaraderie, journal writing, a casual lunch and an opportunity to stroll through some of the galleries and shops in the charming town of Great Barrington, Massachusetts.

Optional: More opportunities for physical activity
